Who we are

Puff Studio (puff.land) is run by Noware Devices Inc. If you have a question about your data, email hello@noware.nyc.

Files you bring in

Photos, videos, GIFs, SVGs and other images you import are converted into 1-bit pixel art in your browser. We don’t upload or store the original files on our servers.

To let you pick up where you left off, your browser keeps unsaved drafts (including the imported file) on your own device, in its local storage. We can’t see them. Clearing this site’s data in your browser deletes them.

What we store

• Designs you save or share: the pixel art, the code, the name and description you give it, and a preview image and video of it. Anyone you share a design’s link with can open it.
• Your account: when you sign in with your Noware account, your name, username, email address and profile picture.
• Your Puff: when you connect a Puff while signed in, its serial number and firmware version, for features and support.
• Activity on Explore: votes and reports you make, and install and remix counts that aren’t tied to your name.
• AI usage: how much you’ve used the AI assistant, so we can apply fair-use limits. Not the conversation itself.
• Service logs: standard technical logs, such as pages requested, browser type and errors, kept for a limited time to keep the service running.

The AI assistant

The AI assistant is optional. Everything in Puff Studio works without it, and it only runs when you ask it to.

When you use the AI assistant, what you type, the design you’re working on and any pictures you attach are sent to Anthropic, whose Claude models write the design. We don’t store your messages or pictures.

Under Anthropic’s commercial terms, Anthropic does not train its models on data sent through its API, which is how Puff Studio uses it. Anthropic deletes it within 30 days, except where it needs to keep it longer to enforce its Usage Policy or comply with the law.

We don’t use your designs, uploads, prompts or AI results to train any AI model.

Why we use it

We use your data to provide the features (saving, sharing and installing designs, your account, the AI assistant), to keep Puff Studio safe and working (fair-use limits, counting installs honestly, handling reports), and to answer support questions. We don’t use it for advertising.

Who else handles your data

We use service providers for hosting, storage, sign-in and, when you use the AI assistant, AI (Anthropic). They handle data on our behalf, only to run Puff Studio. Your data is processed in the United States.

We don’t sell or share your personal information for advertising, and we don’t use advertising or third-party analytics trackers.

Cookies and browser storage

We don’t use advertising or analytics cookies. We use:

• Sign-in cookies, which keep you signed in.
• A counting cookie, so a signed-out visitor who installs or remixes a design from Explore isn’t counted twice. It isn’t linked to your name.
• Browser storage on your device for drafts and preferences.

Your choices

• You can use Puff Studio without an account and without AI.
• You can make a design private, unpublish it or delete it at any time. Remixes other people made of a design you published are their own copies.
• You can ask us for a copy of your data, or ask us to delete your account and designs, by emailing hello@noware.nyc.
• Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see, correct, download or delete your personal data, or object to how we use it, and to complain to your data protection authority.

How long we keep it

Saved designs and account data stay until you delete them or ask us to. Deleted designs are permanently erased after a short period, and logs and backups are kept only for a limited time.

Children

Puff Studio is for people 13 and older. If you’re under the age of digital consent where you live, you need a parent or guardian’s permission to create an account. We don’t knowingly collect personal data from children under 13; if you think we have, email hello@noware.nyc and we’ll delete it.

Changes

If we change how we handle your data, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
